Question: Where do you get the name, Church of Christ?

Answer
: Because we use the Bible solely for our authority for everything we say and do, we get the name mainly from 2 passages. A quote from Jesus the Christ himself, "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build "My church". Matt.16:18 A writing by the apostle Paul, the "churches of Christ" greet you. Romans 16:16.
These passages give the idea that because it belongs to Jesus the Christ that it is His Church. This is where we get the name "Church of Christ". Along with this, the church is the people not the building, so if you notice our sign in front of the building which says, The "Church of Christ" meets here.

Question
: What does one need to do to be saved?

Answer
: This of course is a highly debated topic, but if one would put away any preconceived ideas and look into the perfect law of God, we feel it is quite simple and obvious.
One must "believe that God is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him". Heb.11:6.
One must "repent", which is a turning away from sinful practices and determining to follow God's commands. Mk. 2:17.
One must be willing to "confess Jesus, that He is the Son of God" who came to save sinners. Acts 8:37.
One must be "baptized to wash away ones sins". Acts 22:16, Mk16:16, Mt 28:19, Acts 2:38, Rom 6, etc...
And one must remain "faithful until death" to receive a crown of life. He who endures to the end will be saved. Matt. 24:13, Phil 3:12-14, 2 Tim. 4:6-8, Matt. 24:13, Rev. 2:5, Rev. 2:10-11, etc...
These are the things one needs to do to be saved. Again, we take the Word of God
at face value. Doing all things commanded within it. There will be an article posted on this topic soon which will be a lot more detailed, but for now in the simplest of terms to answer this question.
